Well, you have a nice advantage in trying to do that :). I am looking forward to your new release, and am very happy to have you and Larry posting at the forum.

Komodo 1.0 is a much improved Doch and represent a name change of course. But it's the same program underneath the hood.

Almost all the improvement are very minor in nature, but it adds up to quite a bit. The only substantial "breakthrough" is in much improved move ordering which appears to have a positive affect on LMR more than it does on raw speed.

Both Larry and I are very excited about this version.
I like the name - looking forward to test it :D

p.s. still prefer the name RaZor but Komodo is good
Great, looking forward to it.

I think there was a Komodo anti virus or firewall software, wasn't there?
Hi swami - its Commodo firewall and antivirus etc...

Oh yes you're right. I gave "komodo" input in google, and listing also displays Komodo anti virus, firewall etc. So got them mixed up.

Great news, thanks to Don and Larry.

I'm assuming Komodo will retain the personality feature of Doch 1.3.4. An engine this strong, with personalities, wow, personality creators will have fun with this. Perhaps Rybka really is in danger.

I'm getting an impression that Don Dailey is more experienced and a better programmer than Vas.

The rate of improvement with Doch is especially impressive.

Only Fabien Letouzey could do that. No one could forget the times when he improved Fruit 300-400 elo in few months time.

Komodo will still have personalities. One new evaluation terms has been added, rook on the 7th. I read it in a book somewhere that it's good to put a rook on the 7th rank :-)

Wow Don, impressive. I'm looking forward to it.

BTW You are now on my list of programmers that could challenge Vas....
You, Fabien, Anthony Cozzie, and Alex Naumov.....

Rybka could actually be in danger, after a few more versions of Komodo.

Congratulations,
Peter
