I don't know if the record has been broken but this is a LEGAL positon with 324 move possibilties (black and white added)

This is a legal postion and NAY engine should be able to see a mate in one instantly.

How about the second one ?

Gaviota solves it :-)

It can theoretically be reached, but the chances are probably one in a trillion. I have more chances of winning the lottery every week for the rest of my life. So my comment stands - I don't give a toss how any engine deals with this position.
Just wait till someone sneaks in a line ending with this position into an opening book you use. Just as a joke. Especially if you bet money against it. :-)
I don't use opening books. I only play chess960 these days.

Hi,

It seems all others understood, so it must be you. For someone who can't see the bugs there is no hope.

Does this mean Fritz can't solve them ? Wow a mate in one can't be solved by an engine that costs 49 Euro :D

What are you hoping to achieve by your Fritz-bashing and chessbase-bashing ? If it is a misguided attempt to promote Arena, well then it is backfiring. Arena will be removed from my machine and never used again. You now have one less user.

Hi,

As you see (or maybe you are blind on that eye) I also post Arena bugs so what is your problem.

Go on delete it (I don't care) and play with an engine which doesn't understand the rules of chess but don't pretend you play chess then.
Most people appreciate reading about the bugs as in "serious" reports none of them is mentioned. Anything to hide ?

We at Arena don't hide bugs, not even our own. We try to fix them as you can see in the Arena bug thread.

Does this mean your Fritz solves the second position ?

Yes []
No []

I just want people to know wht they buy before they buy it. You don't ?
I will continue posting each and every bug I find in Arena and ChessBase too.

I see no point in any further discussion from my side, we just agree to disagree. So a cordial good bye from me on this thread.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming the bug !
It seems you don't want ChessBase bugs beeing mentioned. Wonder why ?

Will you jump in every time I will mention a bug or show some test positions ?

Did you delete Arena yet ? Does the Citrine board work in ChessBase too ?

Just tested PF4 with Hiarcs 12.1 and 1st position is mate in 1 with Qxb1#.
The 2nd involved 3 under promotions including Bishop to achieve the win.
Main line 1.Rd2+ Kc1 2.Rd1+ Kxd1 3.Ba4+ b3 4.Bxb3+ Ke1 5.Bb4+ Nc3 6.Bxc3+ Kf1 7.Bc4 Bxc4 8.Qc5 Bd3 9.Qb5 Bxb5 10.b8=N Bd3 11.a8=B Be2 12.f8=R with mate anouncements.
We know for sure that the #1 engine won't solve it :D
What is the engine supposed to find to consider it solved? Rd2+? or a specific mate announcement? Gaviota finds Rd2+ and the correct PV but no mate yet. Is this problem Mate in X?
