Which version of Deep Junior played?
There are some engines more than to play the sacrifice?

10 ... Bxh2+!?
Kasparov did not want to play the alternative 16. g3!? that seemed to give him an advantage because he had consumed much time in the previous move and chose a draw fast int the move 19, so the sacrifice is questionable or wrong.
Anyone know some details of the programming of Deep Junior to attack the king?

I think it was Deep Junior 8ZX, or something like that, I have it. I tried to analize 16. g3!?, it seems that even in this case white is still in some trouble, but overall seems to draw with a slight white advantage. Very tactical lines, easy to lose for a human as white, I think Kasparov's decision to draw was correct.pedrox wrote:Which version of Deep Junior played?

No, DJ 8ZX (not sure about the letters ZX), I bought it especially for this speculative move, as many GM's cannot refute it at least as a draw (and for human as white, in very deep tactical lines, in big danger to lose). I enjoyed analizing it for daysAdminX wrote:I am not %100 sure, but I think it was Deep Junior 9.1
DJ8 came with 3 versions, DJ8, DJ8ZX and DJ8YX, or something like that, the last two played in Kasparov's games. Only ZX (or whatever its name) version played this move.

Ok,
I found, the first 5 games played with Deep Junior 8 XZ and the last with Deep Junior 8 YY.
