Now that I've downloaded Thinker 5.4d, what next? I'm used to either xboard/winboard engines (which the website says Thinker is) or UCI engines.

When I try to run:

xboard -fcp ./SP-x86-Inert---Thinker.exe

I get an error saying that it could not start engine SP-x86-Inert---Thinker.exe

That type of thing seems to work with other xboard/winboard engines I've tried so I'm wondering what I'm missing here.

Thanks,

Roy

I just realized I forgot to put the 'wine' into that command line, but that brings me to another problem:

xboard -fcp 'wine ./SP-x86-Inert---Thinker.exe' and I can make White's first move and black (thinker) responds with his move. As soon as I make my second move however, it crashes.

Assistance appreciated!

Thanks for the release Lance and Kerwin.

5.4d was supposed to be nearly 40 elo improvement over 5.4c.
