We think our Plague plays better than Smaug.

;)

Looks good

Code: Select all

Result after 999 1+0 games: +264 -230 =505 +12 ELO
wow
12 elo is a fantastic start. Thanks for that Fonzy. Gonna get me a new compiler.....should be good for a few more elo.

This programming thing is easy....no?

:)

Christopher
not bad but maybe its better to start anew with plague as the sniny new starting base?
what about Frauge?
How about Plaque

hmm, what about "Balbo" or "Hobbit" as it's looks similiar to "Glaurung" or "Smaug", therefore clearly stated that you have no intention to claims it as your original work, it should make engine origin clear

Coming up with the same nonsense again and again is not a sign of intelligence. Isn't it boring? always the same silly jokes?
Sir, plague is 12 points stronger than smaug. How could you say that's a nonsense ??? It's such a great thing to improve an already very strong engine by 12 points !!! Even with a little luck, Plauge could be 15-20 elo points stronger, wow!!!

Good job Chris
I'd much rather see a new Petir. :P
In the meantime we have made our Scottish Mac version of Plague with it's own gui.

There is nothing quite like the personal touch......

All this "new" stuff is really taking it out of me. I never knew that development could be so intensive.

:D

Christopher
Good job Chris. Please continue your good work! Please don't stop Plague's development.

Some people might against derivatives and prefer original engine, but consider every download hit as a support for your engine
Remember that compiler I was talking about Peter? Well here it is....

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=202880

Setting up the linker was most difficult thing but I think I've got it working now.

I am going to try this switch.....

-funroll-all-loops

Anything that has fun in it gets my vote every time.

Thanks for your support btw.....I could never have done any of this without a computer and an internet connection.

:P

That word "clone" has been used in this thread, yet the thread has not been deleted. Why ? I think it is time to clean up.
Maybe that is even why Lance mentioned the word. Shrewd

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Good question.

Why this thread has not been deleted although that "you know what" word is mentioned?

hmm, I think perhaps because the word "Rybka" is not mentioned. If someone mentioned that "you know who" word, this thread surely be deleted.

How dare you use the "C" word in a development thread.

:D

Lance (I hope I don't put words in his mouth) was thinking about derivatives, so much so that he thought maybe it was the way to go. ;)

I think this thread is as valid as say....the thread on Smaug. It is often useful to discuss things in a humorous way to illustrate a point.

We think that point has been illustrated more than adequately.

Black humour is as useful as no humour at all.

Why?

A bit too close to the bone Steve?

Did we tell the truth again?

Do what you like of course....I see nothing bad about showing something with humour to people.
