Post by Uri Blass » Thu Aug 21, 2008 8:51 am

Bruce said about nolot number 1

http://chessprogramming.wikispaces.com/ ... ite_note-7

"This one seems to work, but I don't think that anyone has ever gotten a big score"

Now we have a program that can see a big score.

(Uri, MyTown 21.08.2008)

It seems that rybka extended the main line because I can get easily depth 17 if with the same score after going to the position after 11...Nxg6

Uri, that is not logical to assume--"Now we have a program that can see a big score"-- when you do not have knowledge of all other programs in this position.

Uri try to be logical and do not get all caught up in the temporary Rybka Hype.

I will raise hash to 2048 and try again to beat this time. Of course 8 way would be much faster than my 4 way, not sure how much quicker to solve with Deep Sjeng on 8 way.

The hardware that I used is certainly slower and thehash that I use was only 64 mbytes.

It may be interesting to see what other people can find with better hardware.

I plan to buy a quad but still did not do it.

I can add that rybka seems to solve nolot number 3
I am checking now what happenes after
1.Nxg5 Bxd1 2.Nxe6 Qb8 3.Nxg7+ Kd8 4.Kxd1 and I give also analysis for that line.

Rybka failed low and has problems to give a score at depth 17
Hsu claimed that there appear to be no kill in this line for white
Maybe rybka finds something that deep thought did not see
