Bright: opening book update available

Post by Allard Siemelink »

Wael Deeb has been so kind to update Bright's opening book.
It is available for download as drdeeb-iii.zip from
http://brightchess.googlepages.com/

According to Wael it is the finest book he has ever made.
A small test I ran indicates that it should be at least as good as the book that comes with Bright 0.3a.
Of course, it can also be used for any of the other Bright versions

Thanks Allard for hte announcment :D
Note that when testing two books head to head, the outcome of the games does depend on the late middle game or the end game phase and that's corrupts the test results in general....
I am sure that this is a slightly stronger opening book than the older one in the worst case....

That's my "Bookie".

Hey Bookie, Who do you have in the fifth race? Oh, and take my bet on Black to win in the 6th round.

Is it allowed to change the opening book through an already running tournament :!: :?:

Ofcourse. I had added TwistedLogic's book after some rounds, so I don't see the reason why Bright shouldn't use its updated book...

Do you have tryed a book for play in Playchess, Dr. Wael?
I found very hard to play against Playchess people.

Hi Paolo,
To tell you the truth,I am not a big fan of the playchess server, besides, along with a excellent tuned opening book, you need a big gun there....a decent hardware that is 8-)
