For those who don't know, NagaSkaki 5.00 has its own GUI and you can create personalities of varying strengths and styles to play against by altering positional and material values.
A great little engine for both adults and children of various abilities.

Three more points:

- if you want to use as an engine under another GUI, you'll need to use either Winboard or Arena. If you try to create it as a uci engine using the wb2uci adaptors under either Fritz or Shredder, you'll get an error message. I've emailed the author about this.

- NagaSkaki 4.00 is rated 2251 on the CCRL 40/40 list. This latest version should probably be a little stronger on its default settings.

- you have a choice of boards and pieces. 8-)

It has gotten stronger as well..

Code: Select all

30 NagaSkaki 5.00 : 2394 70 70 80 46.9 % 2415 18.8 %
50 NagaSkaki 4.0 orig : 2306 59 60 114 36.4 % 2403 20.2 %

Probably just the random factor Tony. Neels responded to my email and mentioned that he'd made no improvements to the engine itself. He's looking into the wb2uci problem.

It's rather a huge error outside of the error margin...I havent had these kinds of problems before I installed the new RAM. I often get the IRQL_not Less_or Equal message somewhat indicative of bad Ram.

NagaSkaki 5.02 will be out soon with the wb2uci problem fixed.
George just tested the beta for Neels and it works good now. 8-)
