Hi Jim,

This is a disgrace for programmers Spaniards.
So far Pepito is the best engine Spanish and about 100 points better than DanaSah, now I will have to improve to DanaSah at about 125-150 points. :-)

Removing the jokes now I am not sure if the engine is better Pepito 1.59 or Alfil 8.0 b4, the latest version of Alfil has won many points.

Ah, my subtle plan succeeded!

Pedro, we'll be waiting for that time. But I see that Danasah is not yet optimized for 64-bit. It's better to use 32-bit (like what we experience when we compile the Fruit code in 64-bit).

I recommend, you use the free CodeAnalyst of AMD (counterpart of Intel's Vtune analyzer) to tune your code. It integrates with MSVC 2005 as a toolbar too. As a programmer, you really need this tool.

I have to admit that in the last 6 months I am stuck. Perhaps we have to wait some 10 years (to advance the hardware) to see that DanaSah improving 150 points. :D

I did a compilation of DanaSah in 64-bit (although the generator of moves is not bitboard), but not only not wined speed but was somewhat slower (2-3%).

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try CodeAnalyst, I am curious to know which functions are the most used or slow, but I have no clue how to use these programs, my programming skills are scarce.

With the 64bit version, Pepito might be able to stay in Leo's first division for another couple of editions. I wonder, how come only one cloner used Pepito as the starting poing? It is relatively weak compared to other open source engines, and it is somewhat compact, there is a lot of chance for improvement if someone were to try. Same goes for Phalanx.

It may be too late.

upgrades are not allowed and if pepito finish last place then it may
go down.

Probably not.

The 5 lowest ranked engines of division 1 _after_ including eventual new engines play in the "Promo B" tournament!

I expect sloppy to be included new engine to push the last engine in division 1 down.
