Fritz X in Wall-Mart

Post by Murat »

I saw Fritz X in Wal-Mart today for 19 bucks. No doubt it is great deal to upgrade my aging Fritz 6.

Does anyone know if it comes with some of the older Fritz engines?

This is what I found...They call it DEEP FRITZ

If it has any new engines better than FRITZ 8, I may just order one myself....

:D

Not That one,

The one I saw at the retail store in Canada is the real Fritz 10. With the big X in front of the box. And it says it includes videos from Kasparov

If you read that blurb, it seems to suggest that the engine in this one IS Deep Fritz 8.

Yes sir it is. But the new one I saw is the Fritz 10. The above package has been around for a while.

Guys, is there no Fritz 10 owner in this forum who can answer my question?

Please and thank you

Hello Murat

I think you should wait For Fritz 11, it will be released in a month, or else you can try and go for Rybka instead, that is the engine most of the users on Playchess are using. Chessbase is not entirely famous for releasing high class engines.

Thank you kindly for responding Brian. I do not purchase anything from internet.
And I already have Arena with all the free engines which are very strong. I have no interest in engine vs. engine games. My main use of the computer is for analyzing my own and to study famous GM games.

My question in the OP still stands

Best regards

If your concern is about the safety of online transactions (as you said you do not buy from the internet), you can always send a check. I think most vendors support this.

As far as I know, Fritz usually does not include older versions.
