Many Time World Champion

Deep Shredder 11 is the new version for multiprocessor systems (including Dual Core systems). No other chess program in the last few years has been able to win as many world championship titles as Shredder. The newest release, Shredder 11, is stronger than any previous version, with its performance improved by about 100 Elo points (Shredder 10's Elo was 2830 on a 256MB Athlon 1200MHz).. This impressive feat was achieved by implementing more effecient search techniques and a new evaluation function which delivers more realistic assessments.

Deep Shredder still likes to go on the attack, but is not as speculative as previous versions. The evaluation of passed pawns has also been greatly improved. All of this leads to more reliable and realistic results during your analysis with the computer.

A completely new feature is the "Opening Advisor", which allows Shredder to handle opening lines much better without the help of an openings book.

• Original Fritz 10 interface: extensive training and entertainment features for beginners, club players and Grandmasters. Therefore Shredder continues to be quite easy to use.
• Deep Shredder 11 also gives you full and free access to the ChessBase Playchess server (1 full year!), where you can play games against people all over the world. Naturally, the Shredder 11 engine also runs under the traditional Fritz interface.
• Tournament opening book: The enhanced and extended Shredder opening book gives you full statistical information about every move that has been played in the current position. In addition you get an updated database with 1 million historic and current games.

If deep shredder gains 100 points (a truley remarkable achievement), that will put it at about ZAp level and within about 80 points of rybka!

I hope that by "more realistic" they mean less optimistic. Shredder has had overly optimistic evaluations for a long time.

Wait....how it is you have news of a product that is not advertised in the Shredder site neither in chessbase, nowhere else?

It will be, but ChessBase releases the CB.-Shredders with the Fritz GUI, and shredderchess.com releases them as UCI engines with the Shredder Classic GUI.

Cliff's question is considerable... hopefully the new GUI version 11 will be ready in time? It wouldn't be good to release a major program with GUI 10 and a few weeks later another one with GUI 11.
