Some members still having difficulty logging on

Post by Graham Banks »

Try this:

Go to this link
http://www.talkchess.com/

When you get there it will give this at the top in the address
http://64.68.157.89/forum/

Now manually replace the 64.68.157.89 by typing in talkchess.com and press enter.
You should now be able to log in.

Regards, Graham.

Is this feature "Log me on automatically each visit" stopped to work? At least with Windows XP it hasn't worked in weeks. Normal logging is OK.

Not sure. Some members aren't having problems whereas others are.

Changing the bookmark to "http://www.talkchess.com/forum/" has solved the problem on this ff/linux combination.

Well, after deleting ALL cookies it does finally work for me again... The problem is: now ALL cookies are deleted, so everywhere where I have stored some things there those are gone. In fact I found 2 cookies which seemed to be directly talkchess-related, but it looks like that those were not them all, because after I deleted them it did still not work. Therefor it would be quite interesting WHICH cookies are all involved in the login process on talkchess... can somebody help out here ?

I found 4 cookies related to CCC. All their names begin with phpbb2mysql1_ . Followed by an extension. Why do the phpbb guys suggest to rename the default cookie?
