Engine update postponed

Post by Matthias Gemuh »

Hi Folks,
I wanted to update BigLion, but unfortunately Fruit 2.2.1 does not include source code. How are others updating their engines ?
Nice day to you all,
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Study Source code of Toga 1.3 then, it's about 30 elo better than Fruit 2.2.1 :)

Obviously he was waiting for someone from Fruit team to change their mind and generously offer the source of Fruit 2.2.1 or later version, which is certainly helpful for engine programmers.

_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

a pity most readers weren't able able to recognize
your irony ;-)

Cheers,

I know what Mathias meant, but I don't want to sound rude enough to ask him otherwise :)

I personally don't much about him and haven't read much of his posts enough to get that he is a guy with some humour and that his first posts(atleast to me) without smileys should be taken as humour.

Hi Guenther,
I shall indeed return to BigLion only when ChessGUI is fairly advanced.
For all my UCI/WB tournaments, I already use only ChessGUI.
Current version here is 0.049 (and 0.048 on website). I do admit though that an up-to-date readme file is a must for any other user. However, I will only write it when GUI reaches beta stage.
Warning to Win9x users: The limit of 64 kB on memos makes ChessGUI unuseable. A work-around may be offered some day in the form of a special version for Win9x.
Best regards,
Matthias.

Hi Swaminathan,
I abstain from using smileys because I don't know which ones to choose.
There are so many of them     :o :( :? :?: :D :!:

Best,
Matthias.

Then Obviously I would assume that you are a new member to the forum if you post that kind of stuff which you intend it to be an humour and those who haven't read much of your posts to know you would take it seriously and reply to your message with straightforward anwers, especially when there is no smiley in your post.

Anyway,Welcome and best of luck to you. :)]

and by the way,Dr.Wael,is someone going to create a poll once again about whether or not the commercial product avatar(such as Quake, and what's yours...eh?is that Doom?) for example should be allowed here,I guess not?Maybe they got tired after those pointless polls, isn't it Dr.Deeb
