Hiarcs 0.5 v Chess Challenger 3

Post by Harvey Williamson »

The big match starts in 1 hour in the Playchess engine room. 1100 server time.

This is a rematch as the CC3 beat Hiarcs0.3 from 1981 1.5-0.5.

The 1983 version is now ready for battle. The Captain of the CC3 team some of you may have heard of his name is Steve Blincoe is also ready for action despite having surgery on Thursday.

Only a few tickets left you can pay me in the engine room - just send all your Ducats to HiarcsX.

_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

Actually as usual Team Hiarcs shows shows their high level of Sportsmanship

i have to convert the notation because CC3 as White will indicate its moves from the black side of the board
so for example 1.D2-D4 is indicated as 1.e7-e5
a conversion exercise that obviously is too much for me as i bollixed up the position operating the CC3 as White.. TWICE!
quite embarrassing as there was a nice turnout of spectators watching the games

and each time Harvey and Mark readily agreed to let me start over
3 attempts as White before i could manage it!

and yet not a word of it from Harveys report above

so in reality the match was drawn 1-1

good men these Hiarcs Chaps

Best Regards
Steve

Here are some of the details of the new challenge. A quote from Mark:

"I will get my 7Mhz Amiga out the loft and use it with H from 1989 - the exact version that competed in the Computer Olympiad"

Steve has agreed to play with a version of the Fidelity excellence. More details soon!

Do not complain. I am not there, also, even taking into account my famous defeat one afternoon of 2001 at the hand of Hiarcs 6.

This people has not a sense of history regards
