RIP Charles Kamaras

Post by Larry »

There was this Atlanta that went on ebay the other day for a
buy-it-now price of $450. I asked the seller, Ckamaras, why he
sold it because I knew he was a keen collector. I received a reply
from a close friend of his who shocked me with the news that Charles
had lost his battle with lung cancer last week. His wife asked the
friend to sell his collection.
saddened regards

I'm sad to hear that Larry. My condolences to his family and friends. I don't believe I exchanged any messages with Charles but I believe he posted fairly often already on the old CCC board. He wrote here about a month ago that he had just come out of hospital but I don't think anybody knew how serious it was, and he did not let on about it. He was still very enthusiastic about collecting and posted that CCC was his favourite bulletin board, when he can't have been feeling very well.

My Regards,

Eelco

sad sad news

i received an email from Charles only three weeks ago
he told me of his condition but seemed hopeful that the treatment he was currently undergoing would help him
he requested my phone number which i of course gave him immediately
he never called

Charles was a long time collector and very knowledgeable in the hobby
a man with a very strong sense of honor and fair play
personally i shall miss him and the hobby today without him will be far less for his absence

May He Rest In Peace In Heaven Forever

RIP Charles Kamaras AND to his collection

Post by fern »

I am sorry to hear of that grievous lose to the field, but please, Steve, note how his wife did not lose even a week in putting on sale his collection.
And we are talking of Kamaras, not of a less than average collector as me , if I still deserve to be considered one.
We are talking of kamaras.
To be frank, our wives cannot care less of our endeavors, likings and passions.
For them the point is: how much money I can get from the silly thing my dead husband used to do, the poor bastard.

With Tears in my Eyes and a Sense of Aggravation regards
Fernando

of course this makes it even sadder still
however perhaps there is a need for the money from the sales of the computers

i post here the current listing of computers for sale by his estate:

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZckamarasQQhtZ-1

you can see that the "BUY Now" option requires an immediate payment

i for one could not bid on any of them no matter how rare or how much i was searching for a particular computer

i will find my computers another way then this

Saddened Regards
Steve

Sometimes it hurts a lot to see stuff around the house that belonged to a loved one who passed away.

Steve, maybe you're right, she does need the money and who better to buy them but a friend?

You need to put it into perspective. Why let anyone just buy them?

Objective but Sincere Regards,

Surely not all women are that way, and maybe this one might have a good reason, she might really need the money. Funeral is more expensive than one might think.

I don't know him but I send my condolences to his family.

Very good point, we just don't know, and we shouldn't judge without the facts.
