Retiring from computer chess

Post by Martin Thoresen »

I've already let my teammates in CCRL know, so I thought
I'd just make a formal goodbye on this board too.

I will follow the scene to see if any engine can overtake Rybka, and
for the occasional chat/comment. But I won't spend any more money
buying engines or running official tournaments.

I wish the best to you all!

Best Regards,
Martin

CCRL is going to feel your absence and also some programmers.

That's a pity Martin. Thanks for your testing! I hope it isn't because programmers were asking you to do manual labour for them, as well as testing their programs.. :(

Thank you. :)

Tony,
Well hehe no, I won't start testing again. But I'll be very surprised if
any engine can/will surpass Rybka during 2007/08. Maybe the best
programmers out there will have to come together and create something
new from scratch.

We most certainly will miss Martin's contribution.
I'd like to thank Martin publicly for his efforts on our behalf and to wish him well.

Regards, Graham. 8-)
