How good is Fruit 2.2.1 vs Rybka 2.3.1 or Hiarcs 11.1?

Say, in playing or analysing games? It's true Fruit hasn't been updated for very long, so it must be somewhat worse than the former chess engines.

In my opinion (and I say this advisably look at the rating lists) :-

A grade programs :-
- Rybka, Spike, Fritz, Toga, Hiarcs, Junior, Shredder, Zap

B grade programs
- Crafty, Delfi, Fruit, Naum

While the programs in B are GM strength, the ones in A excel. Your mileage may vary depending on your tests/matches etc.

They are not in order of strength merely A and B. I probably should have put the list alphabetically since it is my opinion and not based on any rating.
