ACCA Challenge Match League

Post by CRoberson »

The ACCA has started a Challenge Match League. Any of the authors or accepted operator can challenge another on the list within +/- 4 positions.

The matches will be on a server of the opponents choosing. During these matches several of us will be online watching and chating. All are welcome to join in on the chat and the kibitzing.

Our first challenge is LearningLemming vs Prophet. The schedule (created as authors make and agree to matches) is posted at:
http://taccl.org/Challenge.html

The league was not created to produce a correct ordering of the programs. Its purpose is to encourage regular small events that allow us to gather, communicate and enjoy.

If Symbolic is as strong as Mr. Edwards say it is then it should win without any problems.

Will Symbolic be ever available for us the mortals to test?

Symbolic (we're talking about the A/B component, not the "cognitive" component) is strong - but not that strong. On ICC he beats Prophet most of the time - but not always. It is weaker than the likes of Arasan/Amateur/Crafty. Personally, I think Symbolic will probably hold Buzz off since Buzz needs 2.5/4, but the match won't be one sided.

Match ended up in a draw, so what's next?

Buzz didn't get the 2.5 points required to jump Symbolic in the list. Now we wait for the next challenge. I believe Charles said Telepath will be challenging someone this week... either Parrot, or Lemming - but I'm not sure what the status of Lemming is now.
