Yes sad news. I was wondering when his Perft(14) is ready. So the answer: never

It would be fitting if someone were to finish his work in his name. That'll be hard to organise though...Jouni wrote:Yes sad news. I was wondering when his Perft(14) is ready. So the answer: never.

This is quite a shocking news.
Anyone knows how it happened?

He had many serious medical problems, including diabetes, congestive heart failure and tachycardia. He was found dead in his home according to my understanding.melajara wrote:This is quite a shocking news.

We exchanged a lot of emails over the years and I really came to like him. He often had problems paying for his medicines, and I hope that did not play a role. I offered to help him pay once, but he would not accept any money from me.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

its still completely shocking for me to read that in other countries people cannot pay for their medicine.
in many countries here its free.
and we are NOT living under communism.
sad thing.
