Let me answer a few of your questions:
1. The source code has been updated on Github and all the corresponding files (executibles) have been added
2. Winboard, ChessGUI and Arena support the latest Conqueror.exe Release
3. The ELO of Conqueror is 2100 according to EloStat 1.3 over 50 games played in a engine - vs -engine tournament hosted in Arena itself (time controls 5 minutes per game per side)
4. The Winboard support bug was due to opening book usage and has been taken care of
5.Easy download through sourceforge is now possible (@Graham)

@Fern: you can try to beat Conqueror. I hope it is not so easy for you. It currently goes to depths of 4-10 plys with a Queiscent depth of upto 10 (checks and captures included). There is still a lot scope of improvement with better eval functions and faster implementations and reduction in branching factor etc.
@jose: Please try again. I hope it supports both reasonably now. Also the code does correspond to the exe file

Re: Conqueror = an unusable chess engine
Thanks for reporting the bugs but these bugs have been fixed in Conqueror.exe which now supports both formats. The bug the pic shows was because of book usage by the engine but now it should work fine. Could you please check the other release on github or install it from https://sourceforge.net/projects/conque ... ne/files/Sylwy wrote:Sorry, below is a capture with your engine (03-07-2014 AC version) - the WB engine - on Arena GUI ! Will be nice - for everybody here - to have a Conqueror chess engine working in a right way !
Just I want to help a bit !
Below are two captures (some minutes ago) with the last version of your engine.
A hint: the hash for both engines was fixed on Arena GUI to 64 MB. Ziggy 0.7 uses a fixed hash (max. 3 MB). The hash used by Conqueror (like UCI engine in my example ) increases and increases...............and increases constantly (from the first move until the 28-th move) to a maximum of 302 MB (capture 1) then the engine crash (capture 2) !
The RAM memory available on this my machine is 1 GB - the limit was reached. On machines with more RAM memory, Conqueror crashed around 450 MB !
Hoping for a new good version !
Have a nice day !

Re: Conqueror = an unusable chess engine
I was aware of this issue of memory usage but I didn't think it would crash and I didn't have this problem myself as I tested it on a 32 bit 2 GB RAM machine. Current version has no hash table as such but a c++ std map which does not support fixed memory usage by the very design.Sylwy wrote:Hey man !adityapande wrote:Thanks for reporting the bugs but these bugs have been fixed in Conqueror.exe which now supports both formats. Sorry for the inconvenience but this bug and 2 more performance improvements are being worked upon and will definitely solve these problems and improve the playing strength significantly.
Yes the current version on sourceforge is the version 1.1 alphaGraham Banks wrote:Does Conqueror have a version number?Graham Banks wrote:Thanks. Will do so when I get home.adityapande wrote:5.Easy download through sourceforge is now possible (@Graham)
