Re: Maverick 1.0 Released
Hi Gerhard,
Wow +199 ELO
That's better than I predicted. I think when the dust settles it will be more like +150 ELO.
Thanks for testing!

Re: Maverick 1.0 Released
Well, it was like something I know very well, that is, like to be defeated....
But, yes, only after long fight and many moves.
I like the style. It is enterprising.
BTW, any and every engine must fight many moves to beat me. I am a hard nut to crack.
No weaknesses noted so far. Anything of utility for you I will tell you.

Re: Maverick 1.0 Released
I have detected some problems.
It is this: in middle game it takes some time to discover the plan. It dances with its pieces from here to there without much use.
It gives you some room to breathe and regroup.
At last make his point and impose his massive capability to out search the human side, me, but it lacks some extra sharpness to kill more rapidly.
Here it is for you to see

Hi Fern,
Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a close look at the game as I prepare a list of what is like to do for the next version,

Re: Maverick 1.0 Released
Congrats on the new version, Steve. I figured once you added reductions and pruning, you'd close in on 2500.I've just released Maverick 1.0. This is a new version, and the first one to play active and IMO really quite attractive tactical chess.
I'll try my engine against yours, though I expect MadChess can score only 20% against Maverick now.
