Thanks Carl for the answer!
a)I know this .ini file - hope the other Parameter don´t hurt the engine.
b) I have very fast tbs on a ssd
c) example : 2660 kns without tbs, T22 in 9 sec
or 2200 - 2400 knw with tbs but T 25 in 9 sec

I was using the position on my game 2 moves earlier.
So I will continue using tbs here :?

I hope, Sergei finds this old bug!
best wishes

After embedding SmarThink 1.70 into WinBoard-GUI, but before the first move is executed by this engine an error message occurs like:

Failed to start chess program..... on localhost: EGTBs files not found.

The Nalimov 5 EGTBs are located ~ C:\Programme\Nalimov EGTBs\5 pieces

Who of you made similar experiences, especially with WinBoard 4.7.3a/4.8 beta Interface?

Hi Sergei,
I have another problem with 64bit version:
SmarThink lost 20 games out of 300 on time between move 7 and 36!
We play 40 moves in 10 minutes, ponder off; I used Shredder GUI.

regards
Werner

PS for Norbert: perhaps you see this entry as SmarThink has an Default tbs path:
EGTB path = "c:\tablebases\"
what happens if you use this .ini file with the path to your tbs?

...perhpaps my fault - I change my configuration. Maybe 2 SmarThinks wanted to write to the same file at the same time...

attached are two games vs. Oberon, a WinBoard-compatible program, in 40 moves / 20 minutes mode.
SmarThink 1.70 win32 had problems to find the checkmate in one ply and lost because of time exceeding, but in this special case Oberon possessed only the sole king, therefore a draw was the result.

Hi Sergej,

any news about a release of 1.80?

We are looking forward to integrate it into our lists, especially our "5+3withPonder" list...

Thanks and best wishes
