Thank you for sharing, Graham.

This version (like all previous ones, apparently) won't work under Cute Chess GUI. Indeed, although once installed it's visible in the list of installed engines, it's absent from the New Game and New Tournament dialog boxes. The cause is a non-compliant value for the "variants" feature (a zero instead of "normal").

I emailed the author about this issue, hope he can release a quick fix for this and for the incorrect old version number given in "myname". Meanwhile I got it working by hacking the exec directly.

Why are those posted under 'new releases'?
Most of them are old if not very old...

The author emailed me a fixed version that reports the correct myname to protover and, more importantly, works with Cute Chess GUI:

juan benitez wrote:Try this Betsabe II 1.84, with only 2 changes:

- 1.66 to 1.84 and
- variants = 0 to variants = normal;

everything else remains the same.
Betsabe II 1.84 fixed (exec only)

Quite bizarre indeed!

Drosophila 1.5.1, for example, dates back to early March; I remember that quite distinctly as it was released in response to the ticket I myself submitted. Worse yet, I see that the CCW engine list has been updated with incorrect dates. Oh dear ...

Can anyone in email contact with Norbert ask him politely to please start checking for replies to his own posts?

Tirsa,

it would be a good idea to tell Ron directly what´s going wrong on CCWiki here. I mentioned only changes that were not mentioned (yet) on CCWiki.

Because of the versions, I relied on authors´ editions that are written (GitHub and other sources/websites).

Hi Tirsa and Norbert,

There's nothing 'wrong' with my list. I have limited time to track updates and I miss some of them occasionally. Accordingly, I am changing the introductory paragraph at the Computer-Chess Wiki Engine List to read:

Latest dates may vary from other sources; New dates are determined according to the date that I add them to this list.

The Chess Engine List list is meant for people who visit my site periodically and want to download engines they are missing since the last time they visited. If you are looking for accurate dates, I would recommend visiting Guenther Simon's site.

Best regards,
Ron

Nemorino 4.5 is not an official release, but a development version. The official release versions are here:

https://bitbucket.org/christian_g_nther ... downloads/

4.5 is not the latest development version either. 4.16 is the latest. The latest development version is here:

https://bitbucket.org/christian_g_nther ... o/overview

Scroll down to the section that says Installation.

And if you go to https://bitbucket.org/christian_g_nther ... ommits/all you can see all the development versions for which builds have been made. Clicking on the green check marks leads you to the builds on AppVeyor.
