Definitely, when viewing the Black&White version, I thought Alexander Alekhine was wearing some sort of military uniform. Now seeing this photo with color it looks more like a hotel concierge uniform. :D

How old is Alekhine on this photo? Students used to wear uniforms in the late 1800's/early 1900's...

That may be the Imperial Law school (1912) uniform.

1910 he was at Military academy it could have been there also.
