Re: Great News!! Chess Genius 7.2 is out

I have no idea about the strength of Genius, if it is rated around at least 2500, Rybka wouldnt win every single game against it. Note that in my tournaments Lime was able to score 2.5 points out of 60 games versus Naum and Chess Tiger and Genius should be clearly stronger than Lime. Are you not in...

All this waiting finally paid off, hope it did for You as well. _________________ My best Brian MY understanding of human nature (if anything like my own) might suggest that Mr.Lang was meaning to to this for his customers many years ago, and only now managed to get around to it! Re: Hiarcs not everybody's cup of tea?

At least it is my cup of tea. Perhaps second in streght to Rybka, anyway is more than a match for me in that aspect and what is more, I consider it first in quality of the game, in its capability to entertain and give great fun. Rybka is perhaps somewhat -not much- stronger, but also duller. Yester...

Re: How good is Fruit 2.2.1 vs Rybka 2.3.1 or Hiarcs 11.1?

In my opinion (and I say this advisably look at the rating lists) :- A grade programs :- - Rybka, Spike, Fritz, Toga, Hiarcs, Junior, Shredder, Zap B grade programs - Crafty, Delfi, Fruit, Naum While the programs in B are GM strength, the ones in A excel. Your mileage may vary depending on your tes...

Help! which program to buy?

Does anyone have up-to-date knowledge or test results which can clearly indicate which program now is strongest in tactics? Also, which is strongest in all the various aspects? (king attack/defense, positional knowledge and practical implementation, machine calculated end-game, other aspects of comp...

Re: Most "featureful" Palm Chess software?

I'm a patzer, so a couple of hundred ELO makes no difference to me... I am instead looking for the most "featureful" Palm OS chess program to aid me in playing, studying, setting up positions, etc. while on the road. Seems like this is the best bet when I don't want the bulk of a laptop, as it seem...

Re: Kasparov arrested

Didn't Morphy die of depression, or something like that, because he was too famous to get any other job?
Our Kasparov is living it up quite well!

Re: [OT] Has anybody heard from Sarah Bird recently?

There are many ways of looking at it, and it has alot to do with personal taste or bias. A slight change of direction in a thread is common. Expressing a soft spot for someone is less common, in ccc. As for me, I didn't think much, I just went ahead and took the liberty of using this oppurtunuty of ...

Re: [OT] Has anybody heard from Sarah Bird recently?

I would like, only to express my personal feelings here, after all I know I'm not the owner of this place, but I am a little bit saddened that my post was deleted. I acknowledge that tim's was, too. But I expressed something that had been on my chest for many months. I think I also applied a complai...
