Oh yes, it is: Have a look at the books from John Emms, "Beating 1e4 e5" and "Attacking with 1 e4".
By the way 5. f4 is not bad at all.

Re: Request of solution for this pawns endgame.

Yes, white has to stay cool - after 1. h5 black can simple play Ke7-f6 and after gxh5, h4 and finally Kf6-g6-h5.
Only an early gxh5, h5-h4 is bad after g3xh4, h4-h5 and the route for the king would have been closed.

Re: Daily iPhone chess programs releases

Thanks for your command, Tord. For me it is more a question about the engine. I would not buy the App with an engine I already use because there is no reason to change my favorite App for analysing. For me the original Stockfish-App is very usual, the GUI is fast and clear, espacially the gestures a...

Re: Daily iPhone chess programs releases

Lokasoft Chesspartner looks like Stockfish. Is it the same engine with small improvements of the GUI?

In Chessimo I cannot enter the Settings-Menu - the GUI crashes on iPad1.

Re: hiarcs for ipad is there

7,99 € for Hiarcs iPad is not "really" expensive and we know this price-model from Shredder iPad / Shredder iPhone. Pay twice only for the GUI is indeed a point for the customer - one get the same engine, opening book etc. and has to pay again. I like the always visible opening stats, that´s all. Fo...

Re: Chess#

it looks the engine has permanent brain. some moves it does in an instant although time control is 40/120. could be stockfish. at least the moves are often similar like stockfish moves. I am sure it is not Stockfish: - The books are not compatible so one would have changed it only to use another bo...

The chess revolution could only be a new database with all functions from CB11 for iOS (ipad 1/ipad 2)! But the real revolution was the hardware...

New ChessTiger - new name - nice price: The new version 2011.02 shows the rating from whites point of view (if you want), has more levels and comes with a collection of about 3.600 games from masters and world-champions. Re: Hiarcs 13.3 Coming Soon To A Dedicated Chess Comp. Near

http://www.phoenixcs.nl/index.php This is the very first time that the Hiarcs engine will run in a dedicated chess computer Historic Regards Steve What CPU will it be running on? Which dedicated chess computer will it be running on? They don't seem to be saying. Their existing systems, presumably. ...
