Re: You can make Money with your RTX 2080 SYSTEM while you sleep.....

You can help Lc0 training with your GPU. Won't give you any lingots, but at least you'll help with the real effort behind "Fat Fritz".
Btw I suggested that in chessbase article comments, but they deleted my comment.

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (23rd November 2019)

Fo CCRL this would mean: Checkout the number n/s, lc0 calculates on your system (RTX 2080 (should be around 36000 n/s in starting position)) using a T10 or T30 network (size must be 256x20!!!). Then multiply the result with 875. And then you have your bench, as if Stockfish would run on CPU. And th...

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (23rd November 2019)

I couldn't find much details in description on CCRL site, so just guessing and hoping that someone either confirms or rejects those claims. So, here is my guesses about CCRL rating: 1. It's driven by multiple volunteers who donate their computer's time to run games. 2. As CPU differ between voluntee...

Re: New lc0 v0.23-rc1 VERY FAST

I made some speed test with this dev version: Params: setoption name backend value cudnn-fp16 setoption name nncachesize value 5000000 go nodes 10000000 Others are Default GPU 1 x RTX2060 OC Net 42872 Results: lc0 v0.22.0 max nps = 28.7 kN/s (Depth 19, Nodes 9.8 MN) lc0 v0.23-rc1 max nps = 23.7 kN/...

Re: New lc0 v0.23-rc1 VERY FAST

It should be neither faster nor slower, but there are reports for both.
Being slower is more plausible (e.g. due to bugs, not optimized code etc), but most likely it's just either different weights file or different settings (e.g. you have lc0.config near v0.22).

Re: UCI Win/Draw/Loss reporting

I am going to support UCI_ShowWDL in the next release of Banksia GUI. The WDL data will be shown in score-chart as simple bars (selectable between W/D/L) I think it would be the most convenient to use stacked graph for WDL visualization. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/561184936418213889/646...

What is the purpose of chess engines?

In LCZero we basically optimize for one metric: strength of the engine, measured as Elo rating compared to other engines and older version of itself, for games starting from startpos. While maximizing Elo seems like an obvious and pure goal, it may not be fully aligned with purpose of an engine. So ...

Re: Fritz 17

Please forgive me if I missed it, but what is the size of the neural network of Fat Fritz? It is a 256x20 Net. But the file on HDD is compressed - it can no be read by lc0 0.22.0, only by the FatFritz-Engine.exe It's not compressed, they just changed the header for Lc0 not to be able to load it. Lc...

Re: UCI Win/Draw/Loss reporting

I thought UCI options were not case sensitive. In many GUIs the options are showed to the user without modifying the case. Also some people save the output of the engine to a txt file. For example Stockfish almost fully respect that convention: option name Debug Log File type string default option ...
