Re: Something goes wrong with lc0 since yesterday?

I know that A0 scaled better than stockfish8 and certainly earned elo from more time and it seems that the lc0 team has a serious bug or do something clearly different than A0 or both of them. A0 scaling vs SF from that crappy paper is totally bogus. It is a fact! I wonder when are ppl gonna stop c...

Re: Lc0 v0.17.0-rc1 egt test

I seem to be misunderstanding something. How come all the engines with egt aren't getting all the problems right? These are all tablebase positions so they should essentially just be returning endgame table-base entries directly? The tested positions themselves aren't tablebase positions, i.e. they...

Re: Upcoming graphics cards for Leela

Why this BS-ing when it is also known that neither 2070, nor 2080, nor 2080Ti will have real FP16, i.e. all 3 will have it as 10xx cards at 1:64 rate? Only Quadro's and Titan RTX will have actual FP16. Someone who actually works for Nvidia driver development has stated the exact opposite of this on...

Re: Upcoming graphics cards for Leela

Here's some better info, based on what's now released and in terms of TFLOPS, rather than FPS or something silly like that. Titan RTX (??) Quadro RTX 6000 - 15.9 Titan V - 14.9 (29.8 half P) 2080 Ti - 13.4 Quadro P6000 - 11.7 1080 Ti - 11.3 Quadro RTX 5000 - 10.6 2080 - 10.1 Quadro P5000 - 9.5 1080...

Re: Lc0 saturation.

The alternative, less happy, theory is that as the net gets bigger the gains are cancelled out by lower nps. Test10 with its 256x20 architecture represented a huge improvement over the 192x15 main net. Deepmind reported that for Alphago Zero, 256x40 ended up far stronger than 256x20. So far, all av...

Re: Lc0 saturation.

I heard bigger net was coming anyway. I don't think Lczero will reach the level of the big 3 with this size of net, but it might with the next one. Anyway, in one year, Lczero will be the best engine in the world. Then why did Deep Mind stop with 20x256? Why not? the 20x256 net did the job they wan...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

Well, all the other engines won't be sharing resources while playing LC0, so she will face engines with 40-something "real" threads with no memory or disk contention. On the other hand, while the conventional engines will face weaker competition than Leela, they will also be weaker when doing so......

Re: v0.17.0-rc1 losses on time

Why Leela is losing on time? http://www.mediafire.com/file/69i9k0nyljzridj/LC0_v0.17.0-rc1_%28ID_10780%29_vs_Fire_7.1.pgn/file Can you clarify exactly under which conditions you used Lc0 when this happened, so others can reproduce this? Is there anyone else here who experienced time losses with the...

Re: Strange Lc0 TCEC performance

This is new territory, but it will be interesting to see if Lc0 can surpass A0's ‘flat-lining’ when it moves to bigger networks as the hardware becomes available to make this possible. Will pure AB engines be able to match this rate of development. I guess we will find out. It will be interesting t...
