Re: Komodo MCTS scales worse with TC than Komodo A/B?
Komodo 12.2 MCTS just hit the FastGM rating list at bullet time control - http://fastgm.de/60-0.60.html It places right between Ethereal 11.00 and Fire 7.1. On the complete list it ranks exactly one place above Komodo 9 :D TCEC Division 4 will be a good test of how it performs at long time control. ...

Re: Komodo MCTS and Komodo (Standard?) in CCCC current Blitz battle
I was in the Twitch chat this morning on CCC Blitz Battle and someone mentioned that although the Komodo version number still says 2142, it has in fact been updated to 2171 for Stage 2. This is great news as we’ll now get to see how the new full speed Komodo does against Stockfish, Houdini and LC0. ...

Re: Komodo TCEC is doing really well so far against Stockfish
There's an update from Larry from 2 weeks ago - http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=68626#p776469 I've also read in the TCEC chat that new compiles of Komodo are even fast still, and there's some other improvements that I'm not technical enough to understand. I think it's good that Komod...

Forgive my ignorance - how do you know it's a 20 Elo gain with just this patch?

Re: Xiphos 0.4 vs. Top Chess Engines
This is great. It shows that the 0.4 update has catapulted Xiphos to the Andscacs/Booot/Gull level. It should be looking to break into Division 1 in TCEC.

Re: Xiphos 0.4
Thanks Milos. I hope your prediction of improvement can be confirmed, it has been so often that self-play suggested too optimistic expectations. If you look at how different versions of Xiphos have climbed this ratings list - http://fastgm.de/60-0.60.html then it's fair to say that version 0.4 will...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship
They need to implement tablebase adjudication for this tournament to cut down o the number of times we end up watching engines messing about for 100+ moves of pointless crap. It works perfectly fine for TCEC. I don't see why CCCC couldn't do it as well. At least 6 man if not 7 man adjudication. It w...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship
They are only using Fizbo 1.9 instead of 2.0. I was told in the chat that they're doing this because Fizbo 2.0 only runs on Linux and that it's not stable.

Re: TCEC should reconsider the ban on Ethereal
I don't know anything about what happened but I'm guessing that Knight_Moves was the one trying to ban Andrew Grant because this morning when I go to the TCEC website I'm confronted with the crappy old GUI. Knight_Moves is obviously protesting against his decision being overturned by leaving and tak...
