Re: Fritz 15.0

In theory I could bundle SF (and others) with Arena (since the author gave me permission) and sell it. Actually it surprises me nobody ever tried. Hush! Later. Hello Ed, This is your fault! :-) Later. http://chessforyou.forummotion.com/t707-chessrockers-1-0-engines-for-sale-available#3161

Re: Fritz 15.0

That is both sleazy and legally wrong. Trademark infringement and misleading advertising/misrepresentation or whatever it is called. Selling Stockfish for the price of a commercial engine without warning the customer that he can download it for free... Maybe a bit sleazy, but it would not bother me...

Re: Fritz 15.0

Why (I know, I know, freedom of ideas etc.) would you and the SF team include that clause for a commercial juggernaut like Chessbase to take advantage of? If Chessbase wants to derive FXX from SF they have to release the sources together with it, and I don't think releasing the sources makes a lot ...

Re: Fritz 15.0

Fritz 15 is not based on Fritz, it's based on Rybka. It is the Rybka 5. Only the name changed, for marketing reasons. So it should be compared to Rybka 4.1, not Fritz 14. And Fritz 14 is not Fritz either, it's Pandix, a different engine by a different author. The last Fritz by Franz Morsch was Frit...

Re: Clear coding ?

It's about creating a new transposition table using an immutable one. So nextImmutableTTable = Insert (prevImmutableTTable, entry); I don't know it that can be implemented more efficiently than O(log n) otherwise we get Insert(/*mutable*/ TTable, entry) Hello Roger, sorry to be a bit direct, but no...

Re: Clear coding ?

I don't think Henk is a trol. He wrote a chess engine that plays valid moves. I know because I saw my program play against his twice via hgm's server. Ok that is not 100% guarantee. You may think his question is silly but hey haven't we all asked a "silly" question in our lifetimes? I also think it...

Re: Martin on the SF loss on time

TCEC now seems to be a commercial enterprise, so it was no real surprise that they'd find a way to ensure that there would be the expected Stockfish v Komodo final. Hello Graham, This seems to imply that commercial events are rigged? It would seem to me that the two strongest engines reaching a che...
