Re: Excuses for Wishy Washy FEN/EPD/PGN implementation

This is not about engine internal position storage, but when you get a bunch of test positions, and that's typically as text file. I don't get it: what's then the crime that deserves death penalty? Can't the function that converts the FEN to the internal representation simply take care of the EP sq...

Re: Excuses for Wishy Washy FEN/EPD/PGN implementation

If we reverse colors, we shold have at most 2 positions here. But with the e.p. flags (ALL OF THEM SPURIOUS) there are 16 positions, not 2. Therefore, if all the variants were stored in the database, you would analyze the same position 8 times in each direction. In that case, the greatest waste of ...

Re: UCI to CECP

Note that unlike UCI 'isready', there is no instant response to 'ping' during thinking; it is only processed after the thinking terminates. Thanks. It's strange that the meaning of UCI's "isready" is ping and the meaning of CECP's "ping" is isready :) Some questions: - are all the options optional,...

Re: FEN and 3rd repetition rule. No information?

My problem with that is as follows: When you play a game, do you decide when to offer/accept a draw or when to resign, or do you ask someone else (who is not even familiar with the current game)? I personally like to make my own decisions. I know what is going on in the game, regardless of the curr...

Re: FEN and 3rd repetition rule. No information?

noun noun: interface; plural noun: interfaces 1. a point where two systems, subjects, organizations, etc. meet and interact. "the interface between accountancy and the law" 2. COMPUTING a device or program enabling a user to communicate with a computer. I suspect that this definition has been misin...

Re: want freeware gui with separate analysis window(s)

The image you posted is awesome, those large scrollbars are so 90's! Is it possible to download the software? Does it run under Wine? Mostly, this is for manually stepping through an existing PGN (or PGN from a book), where I consider recursive variations, hopefully having an engine analyze as I ste...

It is so good to read a positive post!
The threads in this forum are so often full of unjustified negativity and anger.
Happy birthday!

Re: Issue with compilation of leela ver.0.24.x

I did not modify what would be modified to make compilation. And you? Could you compile Leela during the first attempt from the given source? If yes, you are a lucky guy being near the fire. Why so much hate? Of course I did, but I was not judging you. I mean, it doesn't require any ability, just k...

At last I can compile the lc0 ver.024.x with VS2017.
And?
What did you did wrong in the previous attempts?
