Re: What should the next step be ?

For instance, if your centipawn evaluation does not agree exactly for these four positions: r3rk2/ppp1q1pp/2n5/5bN1/2B1pP2/Q7/PPP4P/1KR3R1 w - - bm Nxh7+; 2kr3r/pp1q1ppp/5n2/1Nb5/2Pp1B2/7Q/P4PPP/1R3RK1 w - - bm Nxa7+; 1r3rk1/p4ppp/7q/2pP1b2/1nB5/5N2/PP1Q1PPP/2KR3R b - - bm Nxa2+; 1kr3r1/ppp4p/q7/2b...

Re: WyldChess 1.4 released

Time management problem in Arena-3.0 gauntlet match at 40 moves in 1 or 5 mins repeating - consumes allotted time too early. I tried a few games with your mentioned settings and it doesn't seem to be losing on time(not sure if it is for you). If it isn't losing on time, it shouldn't be a problem I ...

Re: Help needed

I thought winboard's "default_book.bin" would work in the online tourney. It works in local matches. I saved the settings. But "Nameless" searched right from move #1.

Re: My antique move generator

IMO, the most elegant (not the best, just elegant) move generator I've seen is from Hans Eric Sandstroem, implemented in GNU Chess 3. p = posdata[piece][sq]; u = p[sq].nextpos; do { if (color[u] == neutral) { LinkMove(ply,sq,u,xside); u = p[u].nextpos; } else { i...

Book - Manage (Ctrl + Alt + B) Make sure "Use Arena main book" & "Use Arena engine book" is checked. I reached that point. Thanks You also have to tell each engine to actually use the book. Engines->Manage->Details Under the Books tab, check 'Use Arena main book with this engine' That was missed. N...
