Re: On-line engine blitz tourney February

Thanks to HGM and other participants for this enjoyable tournament. Winboard worked nicely for me up to round 7. When the wait for start of round 8 seemed excessive I typed "mam lp 1" to know the status and the window disappeared. I restarted winboard immediately and signed in. But my attempt to res...

Re: Schooner Version 1.8

I get a "Failed - Virus detected" message. That is disturbing. There is a possibility. The file extensions have now become .8_32 and .8_64. These are likely to be unrecognized extensions in Windows 10. I could try renaming the engines: schooner1_8_32 schooner1_8_84 However, the file name itself has...

I installed CB 16.01 again. If there is any problem I shall try the RC version. Thanks for the link.

Re: Vistual studio community 2017

I installed CB 16.01 again. There was no difficulty in rebuilding a project a few times. So I shall continue with this till the problem reappears. It may be relevant that my laptop has 4 GB of memory and quite a few other windows were open when CB crashed.

Re: Vistual studio community 2017

Hi Daniel, I use code::blocks too - an old version(12.11) on win 7. I tried a recent version(16.01). While compiling, the display goes haywire - then recovers. I did not understand why. After this happened several times I went back to the old version. Which is your version and have you faced any suc...

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney October

"India is 3 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Amsterdam, Netherlands" - says Google. So the tournament starts at local time 0:30 hrs. I agree that it will be wee hours here even if the start is one hour earlier. If the present timing is convenient for most participants then so be it. As we are crazy eno...
