The person who claimed he decompiled Rybka published his posts under nickname "Rybkin", not "Natasha Strelka".

Re: From Russia With Love........

Latest news from KasparovChess guestbook: Sergey Markov (SmarThink) got source codes of Strelka from Osipov, compiled them and says it is not a clone.

Igor Korshunov (author of WildCat) wrote on KasparovChess guestbook (my translation): "...try to find the following sequence of bytes in Strelka: AD 8E 57 4E 87 11 E7 You can find it ONLY in Strelka and in all versions of Rybka" In Russian: http://kasparovchess.crestbook.com/viewtopic.php?id=1629&p=5

Re: New engine from Russia

You can read discussion of new engine (in Russian) at http://kasparovchess.crestbook.com/view ... ?pid=77093

Some people say, it does not play under specific types of time control. And it is WB-only engine.

New engine from Russia

Author claims it plays on the level of 2700-2800. I did not test it yet.

Re: Most "featureful" Palm Chess software?

Don't forget Naum for Palm:
http://www.geocities.com/naum_chess/palm/index.html

It is not as strong as Hiarcs or even Fruit, it's graphics is not super, but it plays both normal chess and FRC, it has editable opening book and like OpenChess it's free.

Re: Most "featureful" Palm Chess software?

Openchess for Palm is here: http://palmopenchess.sourceforge.net/ with a few more notes here: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=60238&release_id=482011 I'm a bit behind on this one - I have version 1.0, OpenChess made a HUGE jump since 1.0 to 3.0, both in interface and features....

Re: Most "featureful" Palm Chess software?

Try OpenChess. It's strong enough for amateur (you can play with Palm ports of Fruit or Scorpio, or with weaker GNUChess2 or embedded OpenChess engine). It supports setting up positions, storing games in Palm memory, etc. GUI provides fine picture and good usability. And it's FREE.
