will it support opening books (engines following the book in the opening)? one of very few drawbacks of older versions.

Re: TCEC 10

Houdini 6.03 corrects a stalemate bug which was reported to me this weekend. It occurs when there are white pawn captures available, for example this position: [d]8/3R1pk1/5p1p/5PbK/B2p2PP/3P4/1r6/8 w - - 0 1 Try this position with the previous Houdini 6, set multi-PV to 4. You will get some surpri...

Re: TCEC 10

That's quite possibly true. I doubt that Stockfish will get the needed full points in the last 4 matches.

But its performance was far from disappointing in my opinion. Let's see if it stays undefeated.

Re: Texel 1.07

I can confirm that. I just played a test game against level 100 at one core and it felt like - at least - 1500 ELO weaker. Just out of curiosity: I am no good at code interpretation so may I ask why does increasing the number of cores make it play so much better? Your workaround Idea seems reasonabl...

Re: Texel 1.07

About the UCI strength setting: Is it possible that Texel plays with full strength unless you lower the value below 100? I let Texel play itself with level 1000 against level 100 and both games were drawn. If so, why is the value range between 0 and 1000? I noticed it when I played Texel in Droidfis...
