EXchess v7.71 released

Hi Everyone,

EXchess version 7.71 is now available at

https://sites.google.com/site/experimentalchessprogram/

Several small improvements over 7.51. My best guess is about 20 elo improvement in play over the previous version, but I have not done extensive testing against many opponents.

Re: My Wb2Uci.eng file for EXchess (LE=Progressive)

Thanks Daniel, all the best for 2015! PS: I have a little problem here with time control mainly on move 79: There are too much games lost in time  Conditions: 40 moves in 8 min, Shredder GUI, Wb2UCI Shall I try another GUI, e.g. Arena 3.0 ? regards Werner Maybe it is my fault: I set LevelExten...

Re: EXchess v7.51 released

.... This version is about 40 elo stronger in self-play, but the gain will probably be less than that against other opponents. - Dan Thanks Dan! http://cegt.forumieren.com/t277-testing-exchess-7-51b-x64 +17 after 1000 games Cool! Thanks for the update and for testing EXchess so quickly! - Dan

EXchess v7.51 released

Hi All, I've just released version 7.51 of EXchess from https://sites.google.com/site/experimentalchessprogram/ Changes include fixes to a couple of significant bugs, one of which made singular extensions essentially inoperative. I've also tuned a number of the evaluation parameters and made some ch...

Re: EXchess v7.31 released

Dear Dan, Many Thanks... I just wonder, can we expect any Elo improvement than previous version? Best, Sedat Maybe, depends on time control. Because I wasn't planning a release, I haven't done much testing at longer time controls to put a good number on this. At very short (ultra-bullet, game in 6 ...

Hi Everyone, EXchess v7.31 is now available on my webpage... https://sites.google.com/site/experimentalchessprogram/ I had not planned a release at this time, but Matthew Lai reported an bug in castling that needed to be addressed. Re: EXchess v7.26 (w32) = a weaker version !

Hi Ruxy, I really appreciate this test, but I think it might be too early to claim for sure that v7.26 is weaker than v7.18. The difference you find is 56 elo, but the error bars on a test like this (120 games) are very large and could lead to this difference by chance. However, I cannot easily test...

EXchess v7.26 released

EXchess v7.26 beta is now available from my website. https://sites.google.com/site/experimentalchessprogram/ Things have been very busy this year, so not a lot of changes, but a few. In my testing it is 30-40 elo stronger than v7.18 in self-play. Probably half of that against other engines. - Dan

Re: EXchess v7.17 released

OK, I've fixed the race condition bug, and released v7.18b of EXchess. Other than 6 lines of code to add some locks, it is identical to v7.17b. On a single processor it should play identically, but the new version should be used for any multi-processor games.
