I still say that you can't rely on one rating list. You must look at several to get an overall picture.
All rating lists have anomalies including the CCRL lists.

Re: Mediocre 0.33 : 2184

Hi Patrick,

Mediocre 0.33 will not load under Chessbase GUIs, but Mediocre 0.32 will.
Are you able to draw this to Jonathan's attention?

Regards, Graham.

PS - thanks for posting your results here. I always look forward to looking at them. :D

Re: Hiarcs not everybody's cup of tea?

It seems as if Hiarcs is not everybody's cup of tea. Hi John, despite those criticisms, Hiarcs is a fine engine, second best in strength only to Rybka. Good progress seems to be being made too if you look at the various rating lists (with the X54 versions being the only blip along the way). Hiarcs ...

Re: Amateur Qualifier (for 4th Championship Division 5 spots

Okay - I've replaced Firefly 2.2.2 with Clueless 1.4.

Mediocre 0.331 works fine under the Fritz 10 GUI and will be included. Thanks Jonatan and Jim. :)

Hope the tournament is of interest to some of the engine authors!
It would be nice to hear from you. :P

Re: Amateur Qualifier (for 4th Championship Division 5 spots

I'm having problems with getting Mediocre 0.33 to load (won't create as a uci engine) and Firefly 2.2.2 (which is loaded okay, but fails to start thinking after leaving book.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Graham.

Hi Patrick,

I can't get Firefly to work on my Athlon.

Would you please be able to email me your Firefly folder?

Re: Is this positions drawn ?? Save us all some trouble

Even if it is written in a text book that it is a draw the book may have mistakes. It is not a proof. Uri It is a draw with correct play and the method for Black has already been explained. Leave the rook on f6 and shuffle the king. White can make no progress. I cannot leave the rook on f6 because ...
