Re: A little improvement to the Texel's tuning method

To use games played by top programs is useless for this learning method IMO. You need suboptimal, but playable moves to get into positions where you can learn from the mistake. This is how your program can fall into the triple pawn and learn a good weight from it. Imagine that you introduce a new ev...

Re: A little improvement to the Texel's tuning method

1) Ok, it's not a real problem to have 2 or more position with different results 2) I cannot find in this way the real score of the position, but I can find a good approximation in a very little time. Re: Increasing Search Depth

Re: Chess tournament

Rhetoric 1.4.1 x64 4CPU
I'm afraid this is impossible for Rhetoric. It doesn't have multiple core support.
I'm sorry. Maybe in future versions it will, but 1.4.1 only runs in a single core.

Re: FCT1 / SWCR: New record ... mate in 21!

12) ... b5?? was the howler. All engines say 12)...0-0 instead and white has slight advantage but black is still good. I haven't analyzed the game, but it looks like a horizont effect due to the forward pruning. I have seen other positions where rhetoric suffers from this effect, and also Stockfish...

Then, 22% it's Ok! You must have a good eye to detect that ro thhetoric is weak in endgames, or the transition te endgame. You will be surprised by the amount of code dedicated to endgames... It is almost inexistent! Rhetoric can detect a small material combinations that can be drawish, and simple h...
