Re: broken?

Not improvements. The 6 core computer does around 45k nodes/s. That is very slow. Ran it through a profiler ( http://yourkit.com/ ) and the current implementation can't be made faster. Would you wager on that? It is oo-code so it allocates a new object for each move etc. which is slow. The only sol...

Re: broken?

At first glance your alpha-beta implementation looks fine. You mention that there's something wrong with it, but don't mention what is actually wrong. C...

Thanks for testing Octochess.

Have you been using the generic or the SSE4 build?

Re: Octochess r4632

bestmove e7e6 was returned immediately, and no search seems to have been performed (or perhaps a very very fast one with no display at all). I tried go wtime winc btime binc and same thing happenned. Octochess brings its own opening book. What you see is a book move. Either start Octochess with the...

Octochess r4632

A new version of Octochess has been released. Probably the most important change is that Octochess now follows the limits set by the GUI on the size of the transposition table and the number of threads to use, making it much easier to test Octochess against other engines under equal conditions. CECP...
