Re: CCRL update (4th May 2007)

... we also remove games where it appears the book has given a decisive advantage. Wow, that sounds like a bad idea. The more subjective decisions (bad book line) have to be made, the more chance there is for inadvertent bias. Can you really force yourself to examine the opening with the same skept...

Toga - Deep Sjeng continued at 20 minutes + 10 seconds

I ran some more matches of Toga Blueberry settings against Deep Sjeng 2.5. I can not directly compare the results with the first match because I changed more than one parameter, but the results have to stand on their own. What I changed was the timecontrol, I went from game in 15 minutes + ten secon...

Re: Include/Exclude Moves from Analysis

I tried Glaurung, Pharaon, Naum 2.0 but no luck. Hello Marc, What problems did you have with Glaurung? Glaurung does support the 'searchmoves' command, so I don't see why the Include/Exclude move option shouldn't work. Tord Hi Tord, Thank you for pointing out. I mistakenly set up the time control a...

Re: Chess960 in Mainz

Hi Tord, I know there was a preliminary date set for August 16 and 17 this year, as we can read here post from Mark Vogelesang: http://f51.parsimony.net/forum204700/index.htm Maybe you can post something there! But first there is the ICT in Leiden later this month and the World Championship in Amste...

Re: Bug with MultiPV in TOGA II - Alternatives with MultiPV?

Could it maybe be an interface problem Richard? I tried it not with default Toga but with some Toga II 1.3x4 settings, but that should not make much difference. I could not see much out of the ordinary. Toga does not support Exclude Move so I could only compare the searches going one ply deeper but ...

Re: Chess960 analysis

I am searching for just the right Chess960 engine and GUI with which to analyze my own Chess960 games. I have tried Smirf with FullChess and Spike with Arena. Is there another strong engine which I could try? Is there a version of Shredder which is Chess960 capable which I could purchase? Sure Pete...

Re: RIP Charles Kamaras

I'm sad to hear that Larry. My condolences to his family and friends. I don't believe I exchanged any messages with Charles but I believe he posted fairly often already on the old CCC board. He wrote here about a month ago that he had just come out of hospital but I don't think anybody knew how seri...
