Re: Another apparent bug

Ok, it has been fixed. Thanks for the bug report. That code touches the computer tournament, fics and correspondence chess too - though god forbid anyone ever plays a game that long.

Re: Another apparent bug

Haha - we can just malloc the required size. No limit required of course. I'll make a tkscid.cpp commit shortly. Dog knows how that hard limit ever got in.

Re: Another apparent bug

When analyzing games longer than 250 moves there seems to be a problem. The engine output is suppressed. Yah, there is a 500 ply hard limit in tkscid. SCID simply uses FEN to send to the engines, but we are doing things (properly) sending the whole movelist. Fix is easy, but we are chewing up more ...

Can't compact database

I should probably just mention this resolved bug. Some people have reported they can't compact databases on windows. It's due to having a chess engine open. On windows, opening a base, and then an engine, means the engine will prevent removal of the old si4 file during compaction. (It's due t...

Re: Scid vs. PC 4.14

Thank you very much for continuing to develop ScidvsPC. I can confirm that xfccplay in the Windows version of 4.14 is working now. EDIT: (with https protocol of ICCF). By the way, the help file gives the URL https://www.webchess.com/XfccBasic.asmx, which should be corrected to https://www.iccf.com/...

Scid vs. PC 4.14

Scid vs. PC 4.14 has a new Portuguese translation, a "Search End Position" only option (for material searches) and some improvements to the Book and Mask features among other stuff. Computer tournament now has simple insufficient material adjudication too. source - http://sourceforge.net/projects/sc...

Re: Scid Base

BTW, Franz seems to be no longer updating his spelling.ssp and ratings.ssp resources. If someone would care to take this over, it'd be great.

Re: Do SF still have troubles with 2nd repetitions ?

So you mean it is better to apply the patch to the master to avoid cases of confusion and take the loss of maybe one Elo?
Yes ... This issue continues to annoy so many people, and will continue to raise it's head as new users come across it.

Re: Do SF still have troubles with 2nd repetitions ?

Git is such an unuseable pile of shit... How the hell do i get a diff ?

Ok - add ".patch" to the URL.
https://github.com/joergoster/Stockfish ... 5b7d.patch

but the patch no longer applies to master. All this fuss for *maybe* 1 elo. :?:
