Re: Scid vs PC with CQL , build issue

Yeah... we'll probably have to do this. Oz has it working.

Just that there's no joy for either of us using this OS.

Re: Scid vs PC with CQL , build issue

Ozkan is a compiler guru :) , and he said there wasn't a C++11 one available. But i think we can compile with VCC if we have too... just very incovenient, and the binaries wouldn't be really tested as we've always used mingwx. I was just hoping someone has seen this before and has a solution. I've a...

Scid vs PC with CQL , build issue

Scid vs PC has recently added support for CQL (5.1) query searches (thanks Lionel). The code is in subversion, and it seems to go ok :). https://sourceforge.net/p/scidvspc/code/HEAD/tree/ But we can't get it going properly with our cross compilers. We don't have a cross compiler with c++11 support. ...

Re: Chess Insight new app for Mac

That's an interesting app. Looks lovely. They say it is easy to use, but from some of their GUI choices in the screenshots... i'm not convinced. How does it go ? $25 is fairly reasonable, but i guess it is lacking features still.

Re: Scid vs. PC 4.18 x64 (Windows 7 SP1)

Yes - there are a few problems we have here. 1. The windows version does not make use of a $HOME/.scidvspc directory (or something simliar). We have never had a windows-centric developer who is willing to do the coding and extensive testing. 2. The project is quite on the bloated side (in a good way...

Re: Scid vs. PC 4.18 x64 (Windows 7 SP1)

Maybe it is some windows brain dead about "Programme" But i also see some issues , possibly with your error report. "C:/Programme/Scid vs PC-4.18/" is using unix directory terminators "/" try using the windows "\" Also, your report has an errant space here (file "C:\Programme\Scid vs PC -4 .18\bin\s...

OS X

Hmmm - the latest OS X is missing some tcl packages. ScidvsMac may fail to start, and most piece sets fail to load The missing TkImg package is here https://sourceforge.net/projects/scidvspc/files/support%20files/OSX_Img1.4.tgz/download and you can install it into ScidvsPC app with something like ta...

Re: Distributing engines for Mac/OSX

Maybe you are running 10.6 ? It in fact has some funny 32 bit kernel with support for running 64 bit apps. Almost all intel macs are 64bit, and the couple that aren't couldn't run 10.6 so I wouldn't worry about that. Unless you really want to run a 32 bit engine? All Intel Macs can run 10.6. Wiki - ...
