Latest Crystal solves about 65/100 in one minute limit and 4 cores. With "solving" I mean first move or win/draw.
if so, it seems to be a succes of the project Sting too. :)

Re: Sting SF 20

Many studies have too long solution for searching. Example: Neghina's study (win) [FEN "7q/b1p5/1p1Npkb1/pPP2ppP/P1P5/3B2P1/5P1R/K3R3 w - - 0 1"] 1. hxg6 Qxh2 2. Rxe6 Kxe6 3. g7 Qh1 4. Kb2 Qa8 5. Bxf5 Kf6 6. Nc8 Kxg7 7. c6 Kf6 If an engine returns 7. c6 (searching) move it is only one way to get the...

Re: Sting SF 20

How many of these 100 positions Sting solves in reasonable time limit 1/5/10 minutes? + what are the improvements since version 19 on this set ? The "iq" test contains examples of many groups of problems which need a special code. Without the code alpha-beta engines (probably NN too) are not able o...

Re: Sting SF 20

The "IQ" test is a very important part of my project (Sting) and doesn't contain middle-game tactical positions and technical endgames. Here are positions dedicated to all engines to test so-called by me "quasi-intelligent" theirs abilities. Set parameters: "threads" to 1 and "hash" to 1024 and clea...

And the transformation into a rook is necessary (2.b8R or 4.b8R)
All is ok. The move 1.Kc5 instead of 1.b7 makes the solution only a bit longer without any sense.

Re: Position : Win or Draw ?

3k4/1p3b2/1Pp3p1/2Pp1p2/3P1P2/8/4K1N1/8 w - - 0 1 Win or draw I created this postion and Sting says Ok this is win but any other engine have 0 as eval even after 2 hours Is a Sting bug or there is really a way to win ? I really need to know the way to win, if this is true. thanks. Analysis by Sting...

Re: Position : Win or Draw ?

Many of you can't understand that searching doesn't return the result (excluding mate score).
If you want to know the result try "auto-playing" or playing. :)

Re: Sting SF 19

Position 35 is part of the study Detour (2010) , which has been discussed here in some topics over the years: White to move and win. 7q/b1p5/1p1Npkb1/pPP2ppP/P1P5/3B2P1/5P1R/K3R3 w - - 0 1 Have fun! Probably here ("IQ" test) are many positions based on studies. The position 35 rather doesn't happen...

Re: Sting SF 19

Thanks, it is my mistake and I found 2 nexts. The corrected version is: The "IQ" test is a very important part of my project (Sting) and doesn't contain middle-game tactical positions and technical endgames. Here are positions dedicated to all engines to test so-called by me "quasi-intelligent" thei...
