Komodo 13.1 released

Komodo 13.1 has been released at komodochess.com. It is the version that just won the World Computer Chess Championship and the World Software Chess Championship in Macao, plus some small enhancements found during that event. Unlike the past few releases, this time the improvements (since version 13...

Re: Armageddon Openings released

I reviewed the openings in the various books you use, and some things are becoming clearer. The FEOBOS book is too deep for this purpose, almost every move played with nonstandard castling rights is likely to be inferior, so the lines should be as short as possible. The superGM and IM books are shor...

Re: Armageddon Openings released

I was pleasantly surprised to see how you developed my idea, I know you put a lot of time into it. Some comments: 1. The comments about draws increasing with more time and faster hardware are accurate for normal chess, where the proper result is almost certainly a draw. However if you start the game...

Re: Ccrl 40/40 vs 40/4

One problem is that I believe that CCRL doesn't really run the 40/4 games at the "adapted" time controls but uses a minimum of 40/3 min regardless of hardware (I may be wrong, perhaps it is CEGT that does this, or perhaps both of them). Yes you are wrong in respect of CCRL. Many CCRL blitz games th...

Re: Ccrl 40/40 vs 40/4

I'd be curious to know where Komodo 13 lvl 24 or Komodo 11 lvl 19 would be located in the list ccrl 40/40 and ccrl 40/4, since their strength is absolute and not relative. Has anyone done similar tests? Same from me, + Stockfish level 19 and level 18. OK, I ran some tests at 3' + 1" on our tester, ...

Re: Are there rating lists that test material handicap games?

Something to try: Random mover with extra queen against normal engine without a queen. If normal engine wins all the games then it means there's a series of playing algorithms that cover all possible elos from this to the point an algorithm with the extra queen can win every game. It takes roughly ...

Re: planned weekly komodo vs human series on chess.com

πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡ I would like to play against Komodo, but I am not a tittled chess player. πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ™πŸ™ We only play with increments, having no interest in seeing games decided by lag. If you still want to try some games, presumably to see whether you can get fortress draws, it might be worth some games to see whether...
