Re: Xboard adjudication: Checkmate but bare king

Thanks; I will keep on my tournaments with the latest version.
My main problem is that the damage is already done... I am correcting the wrong results manually, which is not the safest way to be correct :-(

Amoeba 1.3 released

I released a new version of Amoeba today. Enhancements: - Multipv support. A little crude implementation yet, Amoeba only displays the results when the search of the k-best moves is terminated (at each iterated depth). Should refresh more often in the future. - Better search. Null move and near-fron...

Entries will close a few days before the event starts.
I would appreciate to see my program amoeba participate.

Re: Should I upgrade to Windows 10?

I currently have all the popular chess engines and GUIs, databases, etc on an Alienware laptop running windows 7. I have no problems with anything. But since the upgrade to windows 10 is free for the next few days, are those of you who use windows 10 satisfied with its chess compatibility? Thanks i...

Re: Standings after Round 12 of 44

How can you know which programs are in the top 10 without running tournaments with inferior programs?

Re: amoeba a new UCI engine

Excellent engine...loads and plays well in Fritz gui..does not load and crashes in Lokasoft gui..(D language?) The crashes under chesspartner are probably due to a bug in the compiler (gdc) I upload a new version here, compiled with another compiler (ldc): https://github.com/abulmo/amoeba/archive/1...

Re: Amoeba 1.1 w32 test

Amoeba 1.1 w32 (written in D programming language) has around 2445 Elo CCRL 4/40. Thanks for your test. The win32 version is really too slow. On my laptop it is 4.25 time slower than the win64.sse4.2 version, that is roughly a 150 elo difference! I will try to use another compiler for the next vers...

Re: Komodo 10 released

I think some engine authors do use some winning probability, say 65% for 100cp. And it correlates well with the static value of the pawn in endgame for many. Take kpk as an example. In kpk, there are 67,168% of winning positions (for the side with the pawn), so here we have an exact relationship be...

Re: Komodo 10 released

This is awful. There is a standard for scoring, and GUIs as well as engines should stick to it. Options like this just promote chaos. What is awful, is that there is a standard for scoring, and, worse, that this standard is not well defined. I wonder if this standard did not constrain too much engi...
