Re: Standings after Round 30 of 38

Hi Graham,

That is perfectly fine. More so since it looks like Plisk is winning this tournament.

I am sorry for the confusion with the evaluation values for the last version of Plisk.

Regards,
Vlad.

Re: Standings after Round 30 of 38

Hi Graham,

Here is a new and fixed version of Plisk. This plays slightly stronger than the last and has the corrected eval value from engine's point of view.

Re: Standings after Round 30 of 38

[D]8/3k1p2/3np2p/3p4/1p1b3p/p1p2R2/5PP1/1R3K2 w - -[D]

Plisks eval (who plays black is -12.30) and for some reason Chessmind's eval is 19.20 (which I think is totally wrong).

At this point it was adjudicated as a loss for black, but that is not the case.

Vlad.

Re: Standings after Round 30 of 38

Hi Graham, I think there is a problem with the way Plisk games have been adjudicated. I think because plisk025n (the version you have) reports eval from white's point of view it confuses the gui and the games are adjudicated as loses when they are not. Looking at the last 2 games in rounds 32 and 33...

Re: ChessGUI 0.191 is out.

Hi Matthias, Thanks for looking into this. Switching to 1024x768 is not really a good solution for me. I have a large monitor that is wide screen, and 1024x768 would be less than a quarter of my resolution (not to mention that is not a wide screen 16x9 resolution), which is far from ideal. I think i...

Re: ChessGUI 0.191 is out.

Hi Matthias, Here are 3 screenshots showing where the problem happens. My screen resolution is 1920x1280 and the ChessGui itself runs in a big portion of that. http://sites.google.com/site/pliskchess/Home/chessgui1.jpg?attredirects=0 http://sites.google.com/site/pliskchess/Home/chessgui2.jpg?attredi...

Re: ChessGUI 0.191 is out.

Hi Matthias, Is there any way to make the text displayed inside ChessGUI smaller? The buttons look ok but anywhere else, like tables, PGN view, fixtures, etc the text does not fit and it is kind of displayed only half. I looked through the options and config files but I could not see an option as su...

Re: Distance to King Formula - J-Value

Hi Joshua,
It's not on the same rank or file, making it a bit longer because you travel diagonally to the next rank. Think of it kinda like a^2 + b^2 = c^2 but counting in squares
I understand now, thanks.

Vlad.

Re: Distance to King Formula - J-Value

Hi,

I am confused. Why is the value 6.0408 and not 6? The squares distance between b1 and h3 is 6 squares.

Regards,
Vlad.
