Re: Fifth Annual ACCA World Computer Rapid Chess Championshi

I am planning to participate this year (after having a blast last year) and I see no problem with either providing the binary or source of my engine. For what is worth...

Re: Final Standings

Been caught working on other things recently and I did not have time to tinker with Plisk. But...go Plisk! :)

Re: Test position for any non commercials rated under 3400el

Plisk sees it in 13 seconds at depth 14 . I did have Starcarft2 running in the background so it could have been faster maybe. [+0.92] d=15 1.Qg3 Ng8 2.exf5 Qa8 3.Qf3 Ne7 4.Bxe7 Kxe7 5.f6 Kf7 6.Nf2 Bxf2 7.Rfxf2 Qa1 8.Rf1 Qd4 9.Bd3 Rh6 (0:00:24) 14653kN [+1.04] d=14 1.Qg3 f4 2.Bxe7 Rxe7 3.Qh4 ...

Re: Deep Fritz 11 (Quad Core) Vs Stockfish (IPad)

This very good opening book has only one position/move 1.e4 inside. Is it intented? What are you talking about?? Yes it is intented, the only move it has in the book is e4. e4 is best by test, no other opening moves needed. That might or not be the best but the point the everybody else in this thre...

Re: Still looking for the engine that can analyze this posit

One of the reasons almost all engines crash is stack overflow. The QS in this position can go very deep. In Plisk it went to depth 69 before it exploded. Because all moves are captures A brute force searcher will die even worse because the branching factor of this position increases with depth. Here...

Re: compiled Macintosh-engines (with free source code)

Plisk has MacOSX binaries.

http://sites.google.com/site/pliskchess/

Direct download for Plisk 0.27d is here: http://sites.google.com/site/pliskchess ... edirects=0

Last few versions have MacOSX binaries for download and I intend to keep supporting that.

Re: What score to return from Table lookup

No, if you want to use failsoft, you need to use it everywhere in your search and hash table. Except for Quiescence search which is fail-hard still -- right? No. Since the iScore that you compare against alpha and beta is really obtained from evaluation in quiescence only (disregarding hash tables ...

New Plisk 027d

Hi all, I have uploaded the new Plisk engine on its website: http://sites.google.com/site/pliskchess/. It is mainly the version that played in ACCA. The fixes and improvements are described on the website. It seems to score around 54% against the 025n version (the last public one). I have uploaded W...
