Re: Gaviota 0.74 released

Finally, after a long time... version 0.74 for Win32 (other versions later, particularly for Linux). http://sites.google.com/site/gaviotachessengine/ I may move the site to google sites from the previous one, but I am not sure yet. Do not cast in stone the links. What is new: A gazillion changes si...

Re: In Regards to Naum 4

N4 is tuned as a multi processor 64bit engine. I see that your system is not multiple processor and 32bit. N4 power is not so impressive on a single core, but it should be still more impressive than what you have shown. Another thing, make sure you have HT "OFF" in the BIOS as that damages ELO stre...

BTW I already asked years ago, why are you always on the wrong side
regarding cloning issues?
If there is a clone you deny it, if there is no clone you see one?
Strange..

Re: In Regards to Naum 4

I had the impression that Naum 4 was strong enough now to be in the top tier of engines; accordingly for its first tournament here I had it play against some very good/strong engines, with Shredder 9 using the Columbus Egg parameters. The other engines participating were Fritz 11, Hiarcs 11.1, Rybk...

Re: compiling qperft by H.G.Muller mistake

Uri Blass wrote:I tried to compile qperft by H.G.Muller with Visual C++2008 and I get the error
unresolved external symbol _lltoa

I wonder how do I fix this error and what does the folowing code does.

lltoa(count-ocnt, buf, 10);

lltoa(count, buf, 10);
Seems to be a typo. Try itoa.

Re: Beating Rybka3 engine in a 1CPU

I forgot to say that the tournament was a 2' for the whole game, in a single CPU, played on my notebook (which in theory favours Rybka the strongest engine in the old hardware). No learning, positions from a selected testset from sicilian opening. The same hash of 64Mo. How much memory is available...

Re: Carlsen wins Pearl Spring with 3002 performance

I completely agree with you Sam. My trollometer already reached unbelievable heights for 'Mr. Lonola' for other posts of him in the last 10 days. Obviously trolling is his only business and I find several insulting posts there already. I wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly shows up as another 'Ste...

Re: Carlsen wins Pearl Spring with 3002 performance

Fanboys, fanboys, fanboys. :lol: I have not seen any "evidence" from the fanboys that Carlsen is at the elite level. Let me give you acceptable "evidence" of being at the elite :- - emergence as the top player in a classical world chess championship cycle like Karpov when he faced Fischer or Kaspar...

Re: CCC Forum vs BigLion chess960

... I'm analysing the current position with Shredder 12, and after 7 mins, depth 20, it's evaluation is +0.55 I'm not sure why you think Nd6 is a blunder. actually the blunder would be if we played 16.dxc5 leaving us with two isolated pawns :o i think Matthias might have overlooked that BL can reca...

Here it is around the same strength as Toga-FruitII 1.41SE, which is of
course much stronger than your mentioned ballpark above.
(No surprise knowing its origin)
