Re: 7 Man Syzygy and SSD

But perfect play once a 6-men ending has been reached on the board is only a small part of the story. The phase before it is much more important (especially at longer time controls where it will indeed be rare that the engine can't figure out a 6-men ending on its own). My apologies for getting off...

Re: NEWS: FinalGen has been reuploaded!

Just came across this paper. Pity the finalgen forum has been spammed/corrupted recently. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/332007635_FinalGen_revisited_New_discoveries Summary FINALGEN works beyond today’s endgame table limit of seven men, bringing definitive knowledge to the table, providin...

Re: Hyper bullet chess

Apologies for being off topic, but I read Victor stated sometime ago that an 8 man Lomonosov was in the works and that you were in contact with him back in 2016. Do you know if they have any plans to start creating these tables in the near future. ? Off topic and wrong forum - ;>) - but that's ok w...

Re: Is magnus carlsen the greatest human player ever?

If its true (I don't think it is) then the guy he beat after 12 draws and no wins must be the second best ever. Could you imagine Bobby Fischer drawing 12 straight games with no wins in his prime against someone in a championship match? Like engines, human players also evolve. Carlsen plays stronge...

Komodo 13.01 has been released at komodochess.com. Elo gains since the last release, version 12.3, are about ten elo in standard mode, 30 elo in MCTS single thread mode, and over 40 elo in MCTS multi-thread mode. Since the last annual version, Komodo 12, elo gains in MCTS mode are in the 300 to 400...

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)

LeelaFish is a modified version of the Lc0 engine that gets help from an outside (auxiliary) engine. Leela uses the AuxEngine's PV to boost the Policy of those moves. https://github.com/killerducky/lc0/wiki/LeelaFish With default settings and SF10 auxiliary on 1 thread, +40 Elo points to pure Lc0 w...

Lc0 and A0 has shown, that tactics are not so important at all. They have very small impact to rating obviously. Only important in tactical test suites :) .
It used to be 200 elo gain for each ply. Do you know what the elo gain per ply is now under normal tournament conditions.?
