Thanks Dann, Jon, John and terry - looks like Be2 is the best move but Rxb7 is the more exciting move :D

Rxb7 according to the test suite

Spark & winfinder give correct solution but falling score

Rybka 4 and Stockfish give Be2

Advise please on correct solution please - esp those with monster machines :wink:

How long does your engine find Bxa5? (from newiq.epd)

yes i have rybka 4 1 cpu R4x64 version

hash is 512mb, large pages off

aquarium 3 - but thinking of upgrading to 4

Thanks john for all your testing - fire has a similar pv to stockfish :wink: rybka 4 (one core) faster solution in aquarium - test few times closing aqaurium to clear hash.
